After having lost in the Second Great War, The Toro region had been overtaken by the now high and mighty Holovan Kingdom. To make sure none of the regions which Holova had taken over would try and rebel, The Kingdom would make a example of Toro.
Every few years, a event would be held only known as 'The Toro Games'. It took place in the giant dome built around the destroyed city once known as Aurelia. 24 citizens of the region would be trapped inside the dome and be forced to kill eachother until only one remains.
Now would begin the third annual Toro Games.
Loud music began to play as the show finally began. The announcer, a man with dark red hair, a old black worn-out black suit and a creepy smile, began to speak. "Hello hello everyone around the world! My name's Stan, just Stan, and I'm happy to tell you that the awesome third Toro Games, is about to begin!" The announcer was far to excited for this event, which was being broadcast around the whole world, not just the region.
The image on the screen changed from the far to cheerful announcer to what appeared to be the center of the ruins of Aurelia. Once the cameras start to zoom in, the twenty four unlucky individuals would become visible. Each stood on one of the 24 metal cylinders which were just above the ground. They all surrounded the giant gold and silver horn known as the cornucopia. It was filled with weapons, food and other supplies. But as the first game had shown, people who ran to the cornucopia had a high chance of dying first.
Many glances were exchanged between the competitors, most of them knowing at least one other person in the arena. Some were friends, others family, others really disliked eachother and were able to comfort themselves with the thought that the person they hated would likely die too.
The announcer began to read out each of the competitors names, their faces and ages flashing on the screen. None of them were extremely old, though some were shockingly young.
The countdown from 60 finally began, sending a chill down the competitors spines. The announcer spoke up again, saying something about their amazing sponsors before his tone got a little more creepy. "This will be a first in the Toro Games History, but our generous hosts have allowed me to play exactly one song as the game began. I've chosen out the best possible song that I could have ever chosen, totally." And as the countdown reached 0, the music would begin, the announcer had gotten a full orchestra for this special event.

Most of the competitors were stunned, and deeply annoyed, by the choice of music. But as the realisation set in that the games had in fact begun, the chaos would soon follow. A few of the competitors decide to run away instantly, only Kagami and Kiori run away from the cornucopia together, both heading for what used to be the electric type gym, but was now nothing more than a ruin.
Jamie, Annie, Sinbad, Lucas, Sakura, Shiv, Vox, Victor, Virgil and Hat all head for the cornucopia. Inside the cornucopia, Sinbad and Annie, and Hat and Jayce, decide to team up. Jamie would grab a shield which looked suprisingly similar to that of Marshal Toro from the cornucopia.
"Good news folks! Miss Brown can finally be the hero she always wanted to be... After she murders the other competitors, that is." Stan, the announcer, laughs loudly as he jabs at the woman's forgotten dream.
Hat, Virgil, Annie, Sakura, Vox and Victor all manage to grab a weapon of some sort. While Lucas only manages to get some rope and a lighter.
During the chaos, Shiv kicks Vox to the ground and grabs the mace he had gotten. He tries to hit Vox on the head with it, only to get his leg bitten. Shiv decides to run away instead of risking getting killed. He regrets having wasted time stealing the mace, as he receives a sickle from a unknown sponsor shortly after getting away from the cornucopia.
Virgil and Emi both discover caves in the forest and decide to rest instead of hunting others, they set up camp and both make it through the night.
Dylan Darkthorn, not having been lucky enough to get a weapon from the cornucopia or a sponsor, decides to set up a trap inside of the old Pixelmon Center. The trap ends up killing Vox, who tried to enter the building to hide inside. Sakura hears Vox dying and heads into the Pixelmon Center, where she's attacked by Dylan. The girl manages to overpower him and beat stab him to death with the knife she had gotten in the cornucopia.
Victor spends his night stalking Orion, but decides not to kill him.
Eden explores the ruined city, all while crying the whole time. The little girl receives medical supplies from an anonymous sponsor, who wanted to get her to shut up. But she doesn't. A few of the competitors hear the girl's crying, but only Rose decides to go out and help her. She wounds herself by accident on the way over, but soon gets her wounds tended to as she and Eden hide in one of the old apartment buildings. They spend the night telling stories to eachother before falling asleep.
Hat and Jayce, after escaping the cornucopia, try to escape the arena together. They fail and both end up dying as the arena impales them on giant spikes.
Osmund sees the camp of Elliot, Fionna, Jamie and Sakura in the distance, but decides not to investigate.
Kiori and Kagami both receive spears from unknown sponsors and spend the night taking turns sleeping.
James runs off on his own and goes to hunt in the forests for wild animals.
Sinbad and Annie get separated as Alex tries to attack them, he fails but doesn't die. Annie ends up running into Lucas and pushes him into freezing water during a knife fight.
The night ends with 5 loud cannon shots which echo through the arena. Most of the competitors would be teaming up for now, but that would soon change as the second day of the games was closeby.
