"Just follow the rules," he says gruffly before swiftly picking up the bills and counting them. Satisfied with the amount, he stuff the bills in his pocket and then glares the man down.

Cashis would be looking down upon the quarry with a hint of interest as he fly over head on his Tropius. Of course, in the mix of his hard training money could be hard to come across from time to time and so, with a tip of his chin and a gentle pat on Tropius's neck he'd be gesturing the pixelmon to land down on the road along side the quarry. "Just a moment, and we'll be back to work buddy" He said to the Tropius as he recall it into it's pixelball and begin on, casualy strolling into the front office to see a rather large man who cared very little for the friendly smile Cashis wore when he approached. "Hey there" Cash called out happily only to be greeted with a grunt that whiped the friendly expression off his features. "Ughh..." The boyh hesitated a moment, only to shrug the man's demeanour off as he continue on " I was hoping I could get a permit, and get to work down in the quarry" He ask this gruff man, trying to force a faint smile as he await his reply with money in hand.

The man holds his hand out for the money and takes it if it is given. "Just follow the rules and we will have no problems," he says gruffly, eyeing the boy.

Once every day for about a week, Stanley walks by the quarry's entrance building, each time stopping short of entering the building as soon as he sees the old man behind the counter, and each time getting chirped and pecked at angrily by Torchic as he leaves empty-handed.

Eventually, he works up the courage to speak to the intimidating man behind the counter. He'd rehearsed over and over in his mind for a week, going over every last detail of this unusually terrifying encounter with a mostly harmless old man: Walk in. Walk up to the counter. Say, as clearly as possible: "One permit, please." Take money out of pocket, 3,000 Pix. Place money on counter. Wait for old man to hand over permit. Take permit. Thank old man. Walk out.

It was quite simple, really. Too simple.

As Stanley walked into the building, his mind raced as he realized that the old man might need his name. This was unexpected. Location check: At the desk. His legs, dependable as always, had carried him, unwittingly, through the first two steps of his plan. He stood there for a moment, unsure as to what to do, shaking lightly as his eyes darted around the room and at the old man across the counter. Stanley's hands, deciding to take fate into themselves, reached into his pocket, removed the thirty 100 Pix bills and placed them on the counter.

Stanley stood there for a moment, unsure what to do, trembling and terrified of the consequences of wasting the terrifying man's time. Death, surely, violent and painful. Or, at least, that was all that Stanley could think of consciously. His thinking shifted. He was making a scene. Awkward silence filled his ears, deafening and painful. Quickly, something had to be done.

"Uhm, uh, one, err, pass, please?" He spoke, so completely unsure that it almost sounded like he was being forced at gunpoint to use a knife in ways the knife-maker had never intended. "Uhm, Stanley Kiesin." Torchic chirps quietly into his ear, trying to soothe him, with no results.

The next few moments seem to skip by: Money is counted, a signature is given, and all of a sudden Stanley finds himself being carried by his legs out of the quarry building, permit in hand.

Stanley stops a few steps out of the doorway, and mutters to Torchic. "Running a theater takes a lot more than I thought it would."

Torchic proceeds to chirp out one of his usual painstakingly slow replies. "C....A.....L.....M.....SPACE......D.....O....W....N....SPACE....S....T....A....N" He then proceeds to nuzzle up to Stanley as the pair walk back to their apartment, today's battle having ended in a hard-fought victory.

Gleb Kulak walks up on the quarry, taking a look, before heading inside. He looks about, blanching at the price. It was nearly all he had, but any work is better than none.

With a thick Lyuskovian accent, he adresses the fellow. "Good day, sir. I would like to purchase a permit for the mine." He would remove the bills he has on hand, and set them on the table, reluctantly. "This should be the allotted amount.."
"Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit on his hands, hoist that black flag, and begin slitting throats."

The grungy old man looks up from his carving of a wooden ekans, untucking his chin from his long beard. He walks up to the counter, first setting down his hunting knife, then the carving. He locks eyes with the man then slaps a hand down on the bills, counting through them. A grunt is heard from him as he folds the bills up and puts them in his jacket. He reaches under the cabinet, slapping a permit down on the counter before jabbing a thumb to the entryway of the quarry and saying, "Follow tha rules an' we won't have issue."

He grabs his knife and carving, then goes back to the chair to sit and work.

"So this is the place, eh...?" The man murmured to nobody in particular. He twirled a pixelball between his fingers and let out a small chuckle, looking over the building. It stood out in the sense that it was the only building around and one had to climb a set of stairs to get to the top, but it was otherwise nothing too special to him. He shrugged a shoulder and opened the door, heading inside.

Keld had a swing in his step and was hardly dressed for one that was to go mining, with his long white coat with an overly fluffy collar. Underneath his immaculately kept white hair with a black streak along the side and his sharp fashion sense, there was an intimidating build that would make anyone with a decent enough IQ to think twice about attempting anything. He waved cheerfully at the man behind the counter and placed the appropriate amount of pix on the counter. "One permit, please. Keld Sander Ishiin." He said with a warm little grin and a spark in his green eyes. "Machamp and I could use the training." He spoke with a Kantonese accent.

"Hope ya don't mind when we break our way to the bottom, though." He would add with a wink.

The old man who really should be dust by now gives a toothless grin at Keld, "EH? YOU WANT A PERMIT? WE HAVEN'T SOLD ONE IN YEARS." The old man shouting, having hearing problems, pulls out a old looking piece of paper, the Permit. "FOLLOW THE RULES AND YE WILL FIND GOLD IN THEM QUARRY.. OR STONE! MOSTLY STONE." The old man quickly takes the money and inspects it. "BACK IN MY DAY THEY HAD PREMIER WHATEVER HIS FACE ON THE BILL."

Rosalynn would walk up to the counter, looking at the sign. So this was the place. She was planning to get a permit when she first came to Toro, but she didn't have enough pix and had forgotten about it. After coming across it again on her way to Viridis however she decided; hey, why not get it? Pulling out the listed amount of pix she set it on the counter. " A permit for Rosalynn Hayes please. " she said with a grin.
