General Questions

MC Name ⋟ a_ton_of_kittys

Character Name ⋟ Balraj Sagara

Character's Age ⋟ 41

Character Alignment ⋟ Chaotic Neutral

Why do you believe you are such alignment?
  • Balraj is chaotic because he’s a pirate, and he loves partaking in many pirate activities. He will gladly oblige to hurting people, pixelmon, destroying property, anything like that if he stands to gain something from it. And in turn, he is neutral because he will only do those things if he will benefit from them. He’s not the type of crazy serial killer/vandalizer who will attack people for the fun of it or blow things up because they like seeing the explodeys go booooom (although that is a plus).
Character Race ⋟ Pirate

Have you read and are familiar with all server rules and villain rules?
  • I am familiar with them! I have to look over them a lot when approving other VAs, but for the purposes of my own villain, I’ve made sure to read into them as clearly as I can.
What specific evils does your character plan on commiting? List the number of each Evil you would like to be considered for, and specifically when/why you need them ⋟
  • 1. Lockpicking & Theft & Breaking and Entering
Balraj won’t be doing much lockpicking. Ya know, he doesn’t even know how… He’s more of the break-the-door-down type and bust-his-way-through kinda guy anyway. What he /will/ be doing is breaking and entering and doing much thievering (what, this is really a word?). Being a pirate, he will want to pillage and raid different places to take the valuables and sell them off. This could be anywhere from a public building to a private home, although unless he is tipped off, he won’t really know to go to someone’s home.

    2. Arson/Destruction of Property
Doing pirate things will cause much destruction of property. Balraj is a loud pirate at that and likes the violent parts of raiding, so he will be busting windows, doors, walls, even if there’s an open door. Breaking into the place, plundering and pillaging, will do most of the damage, and some fire and torching may be involved in certain situations.

    3. Chaos/Deception/Conning
People who are loud and intimidating will often be very persuasive. Balraj might need this to start riots amongst the people, start rebellions, things of that nature. This will be the evil that Balraj will use the least, but I have included it in the event something like this should happen.

    4. Corruption
Balraj is a very aggressive man and will need the corruption evil when he tries to blackmail or bribe someone. The bribing will often not be a traditional bribe. He might bargain for the use of the other person’s legs or promise the somewhat-safe return of a family member or friend. It kinda all depends on his mood or the current situation. He’s a fun guy, you see.
What sort of Villain are you looking to be?
  • I would like for Balraj to be a traditional villain. He’s not out to play mind games with people; he doesn’t care about that fancy-pants stuff. He’s going for the gold, so to speak, and aims to take whatever and all he can to make a profit and build piracy back up, however he sees fit. Robbing, kidnapping, raiding, and pillaging are what he’s interested in. Oh, and rum. Can’t forget that.
Why do you as a player wish to play a villain?
  • Making a villain wasn’t my driving motivation for making a new character. Being a villain never really occured to me until I was watching Pirates of the Caribbean and realized I wanted to make a pirate, and thus, I ended up making a villain because it goes hand-in-hand with piracy. Most of my excitement for creating a villain is coming from the RP and mini-events it will create with the acts of villainy Balraj will commit. I hope to involve as many people as possible and hit Toro with some good ol’ traditional crime.
Biography ⋟ ( Note: This is copied from his Character Profile because the two biographies do not differ. His whole life has been one of villainy and piracy, so for his VA, his whole biography would be needed to explain the build-up to him being a villain. )
  • Balraj Sagara was born in a small fishing village called Ramakhari, on the north eastern-most corner of the Rasilla Region. Rasilla is lush and vibrant with mountains towards the center of the region. It has a variety of unique and exotic pixelmon that live within the forests, jungles, and plains, and the climates can change quite drastically depending on where in the region you are. On a map, Rasilla is positioned just below the Orange Archipelago, a series of smaller islands that join together to form one region. The Orange Archipelago is a popular region for pirates, and there are often battles and raiding that goes on amidst those islands. Because the Rasilla region is so close, it will occasionally be a target for some of these pirates. Ramakhari in particular got struck a lot being on the coast and having ports the pirates could use to access the mainland. Balraj was a small lad when the raiding began in Ramakhari. The pirates stole their money, food, and any supplies they were getting from other parts of the region. They threatened and went through with many murders of the village people, notably Balraj’s father, to make them comply, until finally settling down and converting the fishing village of Ramakhari into a pirate port town. Balraj watched and grew up through this and became a tender for the pirates coming and going from the port to make some pix for his mother and the siblings he had left. He would run messages, dock the ships, feed and care for their pixelmon, and anything else the pirates needed. When in his early teens, Balraj yearned to be out on the sea, to have this power and freedom the pirates have exhibited in front of him for so long. He offered himself to every crew that made port in Ramakhari, not as a cabin boy but as a sailor, as a worker on the deck, as a powder monkey. It didn’t matter to him as long as he got to work on the ship and go out onto the sea like the rough and tough pirates for whom he had been working for years. He finally found a crew that would accept him, but the condition was he had to have a pixelmon that could work alongside him. Balraj ended up going out into the swampy areas surrounding Ramakhari and digging around in the mud for the first pixelmon he could find and capture. It happened to be a baby Mudkip, too young to hop away from the trap. He brought the trap and all back to the ship, and the captain just shrugged and let him aboard with a kick to the back to make him go faster.

Over the years of Balraj’s piracy, he was a part of several different crews, working every position on a ship, save being the captain, until he finally obtained his own ship and crew that he could command. Balraj became an infamous pirate among the several sailing the seas of the Orange Archipelago and beyond, and he had a good run for years… until the famine struck. This affected several different regions, leaving many farmers and towns in the Archipelago starving, but also made an impact on piracy in the area, namely because Rasilla and the Archipelago’s neighboring regions, Alkir and Milano, were also suffering from the famine and broke out into a war because of it. There were no longer any trade ships going back and forth between the regions for the pirates to raid and loot, and the military presence on the sea had increased dramatically, making it much more dangerous to sail around pirating. This change caused the pirates to take down their flags and look to mercenary work instead, which is where Balraj lead his crew. He was hired by the Alkiri army to enlist in the Navy to fight Milano two years after the war started, and that is where he stayed for over ten years. He enlisted as a junior lieutenant and climbed to the rank of captain by the end of his service.

Balraj, however, did not take a traditional leave of service. His ship was patrolling in Milano waters, scouting out anything on the sea and on land, when the people on the mainland began running around seemingly panicked. Believing that a fight had broken out, Balraj commanded his ship go to ashore and assist. He and his soldiers ran out into the panic and found the Milano population rioting against the Alkiri soldiers who were seemingly confused and helpless. Balraj decided to have his crew cut and run back to the ship and radio in to his commanders; however, he found the radios to be unresponsive. Balraj returned to his crew on deck, puzzled, to find them talking amongst themselves about what they heard while they were running amongst the other Alkiri soldiers and the Milano populace: something about a freak lightning storm in the capitol taking out everything on the island. They also spoke of the Milano people starting a revolution against the Alkiri soldiers and that it was rumored to be lead by the princess. Balraj listened in and sized up the information, then decided to take advantage of the chaos, confusion, and apparent lack of communication amongst the Alkiri forces. He held no loyalty for his superiors or the country for which he had been fighting for over a decade and would bolt with his crew and the Navy battleship they put him in command of whenever he found a chance. And this was his chance. He sailed off for the Orange Achipelago and made port at one of the established pirate dens. However, it was a shell of its former self, and those who had stuck around told them of the other settlements being very similar around the Archipelago. The famine did not treat the islands well, and many of the towns were in shambles as people struggled to regain their lives back. Balraj would not settle with this. He wanted his life on the sea again, to build piracy back up and become threatening and successful once again. He took it upon himself to scout out new regions, taking his ship and pixelmon and leaving his crew to work on the dens in the Archipelago. His first target? Some place called Toro.
What moral boundaries does your character have, if any?
  • Balraj does not have any moral boundaries to speak of. Being exposed to piracy since he was a very young boy, he has been exposed to the madness and chaos that is piracy for over three decades, and as such, his heart has hardened, and he has become desensitized to acts which should be seen as moral dilemmas. People, pixelmon, it doesn’t matter. He will mean to harm or kill anything, destroy everything, if it means he gets what he wants. Now, for his ship and crew members, he would not want to see them die by any hand other than his own, but this would be because he still needs them for his goals. If a greater alternative presents itself, he would not care to push them overboard.
What are some notable strengths of your character?
  • Balraj is a very strong man, and his pixelmon are all trained for very aggressive fighting. He will use brute-force to try to get out of most situations. He will also use tactics he has learned from pirating in the Orange Archipelago and fighting for the Alkiri Navy to his advantage.
What are some notable weaknesses of your character?
  • Balraj, however, is not a very smart man. He is very Tauros-headed, quick to anger, and will often not budge on a stance unless some really good point is made (notably, anything about rum). He was never educated, and, as such, doesn’t know how to read or write. This also means he often will not be able to, or will refuse to, use any form of deductive reasoning, often jumping to the first conclusion and going for the easiest solution, often involving violence of some form and often not be the smartest solution. Balraj is not very fast either and would rather take a hit than dodge it. He has good endurance but that will only last for so long, and he will be too stubborn to acknowledge his weakness and back out.
Is your character loyal or does he turn around and back stab people? To what extent?
  • Balraj has a very mercenary-esque approach to loyalty. He will be loyal to someone as long as their usefulness is lasting. If a greater alternative is presented or he finds the person to be a hassle to him and no longer worth keeping around, he will be quick to get rid of them. Balraj has no family or friends and doesn’t necessarily know what those means. All he has had is his crew, and he has thrown many a member overboard in the past.

Answer these five questions IC as if you were accepted for the evils you applied for. We will be watching for power-gaming, meta-gaming or anything unrealistic.

You hear the doorbell ring outside your door and head to open it. An angry looking woman with a large machoke you can only assume to be a bodyguard, stands at the door way. She begins jabbing a finger at your chest and threatening you to pay your rent. What do you do next?
  • Balraj would swipe out and attempt to grab the woman’s wrist, his brow perking as a raspy growl emits from his throat. “Filthy wench, ye best be gettin’ outta--” She would attempt to interrupt with more babbling and yelling, attempting to jerk her wrist away as he likely would still have a hold on it. This irritates Balraj and sets off his short fuse. He pulls at her wrist and attempts to grab at her upper arm, then, if successful, would push them at counteracting points in order for her arm to break at the elbow. His strength would likely allow this to succeed. The woman would let an ear-piercing scream then be pushed back by Balraj.
The pirate looks down at her with a bemused expression, and the eye of a Sigilyph emerges from behind his shoulder, flitting back and forth in a consistent pattern. The Machoke was, of course, not very happy with this. It frantically looks to its master as she is crumpled on the floor, then her eyes dart to her pixelmon, and she spits out, “Don’t just stand there! Look what he did to me! Take care of him!”
The Machoke turns on Balraj and cries out while beating its fists together and walking toward Balraj. His smile grows only wider, his brow furrowed in challenge. As if upon verbal command, Sentry springs up from behind its captain and locks onto the oncoming Machoke. Its eye glows brightly, and in tandem with the flitting of Sentry’s wings, the Machoke lifts into the air as it was reaching back for a punch. It starts being slammed into the wall beside the apartment, hit after hit cracking the wood. With every swing, the Sigilyph rotates in a mechanical motion, the rhythm of its wings never breaking. The final hit breaks off parts of the wood, then Sentry flicks to the right and flings the Machoke out into the woods.
The woman would likely watch with fear-filled eyes or eyes that burned with hate, either one, then screech to Balraj, “The police! I’ll call the police! The RTMP! The law! Y-you’ll pay!” Balraj would respond with a bellowing laugh, then step down over to her. “Ye best be rethinkin’ that, love,” he says as she falls backwards in her attempt to crawl away. Ignoring, what she had to say, Balraj would lift up his heavy-booted foot. He’d then lock eyes with her before stomping his foot down onto her face with the intention of knocking her out. Balraj steps back, then look around, puzzlement on his face. “Wait… why an apartment I be in anyway? Back to the ship, ya filthy Barbacles, or the tail end uva Snorlax ye’ll meet!”
While staying at a nearby inn, you happen to overhear two men talking about a heist. You can't make out too many details but they seem to be struggling to find another member to help. What do you do next?
  • Balraj would likely be drinking his fill of the inn’s rum, laughing and making merriment with other drunks. Hearing something about a bank and a heist and needing another member would cause Balraj to stumble over and make an inquiry. He’d slam down his mug and fall into the seat while babbling, “A little Chatot pecked me ear n’ sang a sweet song ‘bout banks n’ robberies… Well, look no further, lads, as Captain Sagara be here ta’ take ye up on yer offer!” It was clear this heist was intended to be a stealth mission from the men waving their hands back and forth and growling under their breaths to shut him up. However, a man of his stature and constant blood alcohol level is not easily swayed. He jerks two pixel balls from his belt while hollaring, “Plans! Man-a’-War n’ Jolly Roger’ll take care’a the guards oar any opposin’ pixelmon there be. Aye! N’ the bonnie lasses behind the counter -- n’ the police!” He lets a hearty laugh and downs more rum. “N’ Clipper ‘ere’ll shoot in n’ fetch the pix after they all have hit the floor or been eaten!” The others sitting around would likely have perked up to listen to the drunk pirate’s shouting. One man drops his face into his hand with a sigh while the other is fuming and slamming his fist while whisper-screaming at Balraj. He just laughs again when suddenly the angry man rears back and sends a punch straight at Balraj’s face. It connects and knocks him backwards in the chair, then toppling into the floor.
The inn goes silent. The musicians who likely were entertaining the inn’s guests stop playing, and everyone stops and stairs. Balraj pushes himself up off the floor with a grunt, wobbling back and forth some. He reaches down to collect his two pixel balls, then stands upright and cracks his nose back into place. “Aye,” he says gruffy and looks toward the men. “If ye wanna fight, laddies, I’LL GIVE YE A FIGHT!” he shouts and throws out Man-o’-War and Jolly Roger, his enormous Sharpedo and Yanmega, who form by his side, then target the men.
An old woman has fallen down on the route. She calls for you to help her. You noticed she has nothing but a purse on her but littered around her feet are fainted Pixelmon. What do you do next?
  • Balraj would have been walking down the route, an Omanyte sitting on the back of his neck with tentacles wrapped around his neck and weaved through his hair. He had been talking idly to it and not paying much mind elsewhere when he walks forward and ends up kicking the poor old woman in his walk. He looks down, an eyebrow perking up in irritation, and finds this woman to be the source of the noise that tried interrupting his talk with Killick. The old lady would likely cringe up a bit from his kick, then look up to him and reach out for his help. “Keep yer paws off me,” he growls and lifts up his foot to put the toe to her shoulder, then push her over and away from him. Balraj looks between her, the wallet, and her fainted pixelmon. He bends down and takes her wallet but finds it cleaned out by whoever had assaulted her first. He idly discards it, likely hitting her with it, then stands and shrugs. “Anyway, ‘bout the rum!” he starts up his conversation again and steps over the woman, scraping his boot across her body as he does so, and continues down the route.
Team Noir strikes again! You were walking along the route when up ahead you notice a pit hole trap where voices are screaming for help. Two people dressed in black and red stand over the hole and laugh maniacally. What do you do next?
  • Balraj is likely walking down the route, Killick wrapped around his neck again, but he has Clipper out of its pixel ball. He’s giving it instructions on a trip it will be making, then he looks over at the screaming and laughing when he gets close enough. “What be goin’ on here..” he wonders to himself. He glances at Clipper, then jerks his head toward the grunts. The Seadra acknowledges its master’s order, then bolts forward to them. It attempts to collide into their backs and knock them into the hole as well, and if successful, would watch them fall from the edge of the hole as Balraj steps over laughing. He strokes the spine of his pixelmon, then looks down into the hole. “Weeeeell, mateys, a hole it looks like yee’ve dug yerselves.” The Team Noir grunts would likely have fallen onto the trapped people below and were just now trying to push themselves up. They’d likely shout expletives at Balraj and be pulling out pixel balls (or sandwiches/bottles) to fight him with, even down in the hole. “Ice sure be a dangerous thing,” Balraj begins and nudges his head, signalling for Killick to climb up on top of it, “It’s rather beautiful... but also as deadly n’ unforgivin’ as a pool’a hungry Basculin. Killick, Ice Beam, around the walls of the hole.” The Omanyte obeys with a swish of its tentacles and fires the beam directly at the wall. The ice crystals emerge and stick to the wall, then begin stacking atop one another and forming a shelf to seal the hole as Killick slowly moves the beam back and forth. Balraj kneels down at the edge and looks down at the people. “Now, lads and lassies… whose it be that I can talk to ‘bout ransom for yer fancy little lives?”
A while walking along the sidewalk in Aurelia, a boy in his early teens bumps into you. He has an air of arrogance and he scowls at you only for a moment before continuing to walk. When you pat down your jacket pockets, you've noticed your wallet missing. What do you do next?
  • ”Eh, a what? Me wallet?” Balraj halts his walking and wheels around on his heel where he sees the boy at a dead run in the opposite direction. He growls and shouts, “Killick! Ice Beam that little prick!” The Omanyte detaches itself from his neck and hops onto his head. It fires the beam towards the boy’s back, and, if successful, would begin to freeze him over from the point of the hit to the rest of his body, not stopping until he’s completely frozen over. Balraj furrows his brow angrily and steps over to the statue of the boy, pulling a pixel ball and throwing it on the ground for his Swampert to pop out. It looks to him for the command as Balraj’s eyes scour the frozen boy, his pose locked in a run by the ice. The wallet was viewable in the boy’s hand. Balraj looks over to his pixelmon and commands, “Ballast, Hammer Arm the statue!” Ballast hesitates. It lifts up an arm, and its eyes flick from the frozen boy to its master. Balraj narrows his eyes and snaps, “Now!” The pixelmon obeys orders and lifts up both its arms, pushing itself up as high as it would go, then it slams its arms down onto the statue. Cracks are heard, then the statue shatters into hundreds of pieces as the force works its way down. Balraj lifts his hands up above his head to block the shards from hitting Killick but otherwise stands still and watches. As the shards start to settle, a grin grows on Balraj’s face, and a laugh shakes his chest. “Foolish lad, wallets won’t be where yer finding me money.” He steps through the shards and heads on his way. Ballast looks down at them and nudges a few with its foot before being barked at by Balraj and following briskly behind.
