Foresting for a new town help

Okay i know i remember seeing it somewhere but for the life of me cant find it again, So i figured i would ask here.

My friends and I are preparing a request for a settlement but before we do I need to know how IC cutting down/replanting
trees works. I know were supposed to leave the stumps but is there X amount of time till said stumps can be removed and replanted (because in real life you do remove the stump :p). Say we do get approved for our settlement, Are we only allowed to use the lumber on that 100x100 area. Would i have to get (something else) to cut down more trees in a different location. Am I allowed to plant more trees but leave the stumps?

Any clarification on this would be amazing ^^

Yes I think we should be able to replant trees just no bonemeal cuz in real life they remove the stumps and plant more ans in 10 years come back and cut them down again. I like the idea of no farms but i think we should be able to replant
