(So behind on this my apologies, but we'll see how this all goes.)

First Year
  • [Biology - 1.0 credit total] NOL1, then NOL2 later in the same year, both covering 'Nature of Life' Biology studies, to help lay the foundation of how Biology builds the world around us. A-. Jiro studied hard, but still had to build on a lot of totally new information, which gave him some troubles. Nothing that held him back too much.
  • [Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior 'Core' - 3.0 credit] EEB3411, an introduction into Ecology and Animal Behaviour in various environments. A - Jiro felt more comfortable here than in Biology, thanks to less math being involved. Easy enough for him to focus and understand, and the practical side had been built to some degree from his family's history as Pokemon Breeders.
  • [Math, Calculus - 4.0 Credit] MATH1271.. Calculus 1, and the bane of most students' existences... B- - A shaky semester here, and nearly a C, but some extra credit work and sleepless nights pushed it back up to a more 'acceptable' grade for Jiro's standards.
  • [History, Pokemon - 3.0 Credit] HIST1506, an introductory course to the History of Pokemon specifically, focusing on migrations and evolution of various species in the Regions spread across the world. A+ - This is one of the things that pulled Jiro towards his ambition to begin with. Even without coursework and credits, he would study this area.
And with that, his first year was done. The math looming in the next few semesters worried him, but with enough studying and encouragement he knew he would do just fine. He had the hope of his dream to carry him forward.

Second Year
  • [Biology - 3.0 Credit] BIO1405 - A baseline Biology course covering a generalized area of the subject, in order to better familiarize students with what the field covers, and what to expect in coming courses. B+ - The course covered regional biology, such as plants and terrain, more than actual animals, which was an area Jiro had somehow forgotten to expect in his work. All the same, he was able to focus and maintain solid grades, albeit with a few late nights hurting his work in this class, especially with it being morning-based.
  • [Math, Calculus - 4.0 Credit] MATH1272 - Calculus 2, covering what felt like any and every equation you would ever possibly need to know.. B- - Once again, Math proved to be Jiro's weak point, and so his grades slipped to show for it. His sleep was still somewhat lacking from the first year of work, and it certainly showed. Luckily there was only one more set after this of his nemesis to deal with..
  • [Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior 'Core' - 3.0 Credit] EEB3412 - A continuation on the introductory course, helping to cement and showcase why Pokemon shift based on their environments, for example why Pokemon in caves develop harder skin or shells, and why Pokemon near the beach will develop gills or fins. A- - Would have been higher, but his lack of sleep from Calculus exams and tests had begun to affect his other classes. His Professor suggested taking less courses next year, but Jiro was an overachiever to a fault in his studies.. All the same, this was an area he was passionate about, which shone through in his work.
  • [Zoology - Mammalogy - 3.0 Credit] EEB3014 - This course was the start of specialized information on types of Pokemon, in a generalized sense. Specifically studied, Mammals in their most common forms. Canine, feline, etc. A- - The generalized nature of the course was somewhat difficult for Jiro, and fatigue caused him to mix up some things when first learning, but as time went on the pieces lay in place far more accurately, and his grades improved rapidly.
A shaky year, to be sure, and one that worried Jiro, given that harder and harder courses were just around the bend, and his sleep was fading away like a bygone memory... But, he clung fast to his goals, and scheduled things where he could. His social life certainly took a hit, but he hadn't gotten out to mingle much since coming to Toro as it was...

Third Year
  • [Biology, Pokemon Anatomy - 3.0 Credit] PKBIO-1145 - This course ran hand in hand with his History and Ecology courses, setting up the knowledge of the actual anatomical changes caused by Evolution and variations and helping to identify and study further examples. A- - The anatomical side of things gave Jiro some issue to grasp at first, but he managed to pull together and handle the course well by the midpoint, breezing through the later half of his work. A notable portion of the grade was helped by a report on the Pokemon Vivillon and it's coloration variants, which are caused by geographical-location and the changes caused as an effect of such.
  • [Math, Calculus - 4.0 Credit] MATH1273 - The final course Jiro had to suffer through for Math in his courses, now being equipped with all the tools to handle calculations in his field work. By far the most struggle Jiro would handle in his schooling, and nearly the hole that sunk the ship.. C- - This course hit Jiro far harder than he was ready for, and already working on lesser health from his overworking of the last two years. Like his first year, he was able to handle some Extra Credit, much to the worry of his professors, to help his grade, though it's use was merely to keep from failing the course altogether..
  • [Chemistry - 3.0 Credit] CHEM1534 - Titled further as 'Chemistry for the Life Sciences', this course handled the teaching and study of how chemistry works within the environment, such as Lava forming new landmasses, or Ash fertilizing and revitalizing a long-dilapidated forest. Or, in some cases, as studied in the field for coursework, how Human interaction and spillover can cause changes, waste and toxins being the main examples. B - Following on the back of fatigue from overextending himself in his study, Jiro struggled with focus at certain points, but held to the subject well enough to grasp it fully and work well.
  • [Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior - 4.0 Credit] EEB4214 - This course laid out Regional Forms fully, covering the shift over time from a common variant, into it's 'regional' format, for example Yanma and Toroan Yanma, or Gogoat and it's Toroan form. A+ - This was already a field that Jiro found interesting, so even through his fatigue he was able to focus in and ace the course. His own paper on studying the forms and research on Toroan Yanma made for a wonderfully detailed exam, and helped to get his grade.
  • [EEB, Ornithology - 2.0 Credit] EEB4811 - This course was focused in on specific area of study, being Bird Pokemon and their evolutions over time. Began as an introductory course, before covering the more specialized topics of the area, such as their generalized history and development in various regions, such as cranelike birds in swampy areas, or gulls around coastal regions. A - While bird Pokemon are not Jiro's favorite area, he is always happy to learn more about any species, and so this course felt more like fun than actual work.
Fatigue had set in, but was fading by the end. The repetition of his Calculus courses made things a touch easier, and the courses were shifting now to more hands-on learning and proper study of his specific field. Finally, school was becoming fun.

Fourth Year - Final 'Coursework' Year
  • EEB, Pokemon Evolution by Non-Natural Means - 3.0 Credit] EEB3433 - This course was set to showcase the specific effects of 'Evolutionary Stones', Specific Conditions, and outside sources affecting the evolutionary process of certain species, such as the Eevee family tree all reacting to certain stones and environments. A- - There were some points where the process of non-natural evolution seemed to outright confuse Jiro, but he managed to straighten things out and focus in on the coursework before it got too far out of hand.
  • [EEB, Breeding - 2.0 Credit] EEB3431 - This course sought to train students on the purposes of breeding in specific environments and conditions, and how these factors would affect Pokemon Eggs. For hands on work, Jiro raised an egg, keeping the habitat for it within specific conditions.A+ - This field came as second nature, having been a huge part of Jiro's childhood. Their own home was set that Yanma were bred in very specific conditions in order to produce the highest quality offspring, and so the coursework was simply filling in blanks for other species of Pokemon.
  • [Biology, Mycology - 3.0 Credit] BIO1892 - This course was set to further apply the previous coursework to a specific field of study, this time being focused in on Fungal ecosystems, and how they affect the world around them. A+ - This was a surprising revelation for Jiro, but he found the course to be both enlightening *and* entertaining. He also felt that it was not a far jump from his love of Insects, given the mingling of environments and ecosystems present with both sides.
  • [Theology - Creation - 1.0 Credit] THEO1245 - This course was an elective, but something Jiro wanted to take all the same, in order to help solidify a wider concept of how the world was formed. Or.. at the very least, to find a wider perspective and help see the world a bit better. A- - The course itself was simple and straightforward, and Jiro had little issue with the actual coursework. His only real issue was the myriad of questions and confusions he had regarding each section and their beliefs.
  • [Biology, Seminar - 0.5 Credit] While not being a course, this was still a valuable portion of his work, as it provided an opportunity for Jiro to compare notes with other coursemates and to study research made by more established figures in the Region.
  • [Ecology, Seminar - 0.5 Credit] Again, not a full course, but still valuable to his study all the same. This covered more of environmental science than Pokemon biology, but still helped him to understand the latter by helping him to further understand how the world itself shaped everything inhabiting it.
Luckily for Jiro, the fatigue from his second year of University had all but faded, his health, and his studies by extension, recovering and improving as a result. The actual classrooms began to lessen in frequency, and his time was spent more in the field or in auditoriums, discussing notes and documenting research.

Fifth and Sixth Years

Despite his proper coursework now being done, Jiro elected to continue his studies to pursue a proper PhD, for Evolution, Ecology and Behavior.

Both years were spent studying abroad, the Fifth in Alola, and the Sixth in Unova. His studies were focused on researching and documenting the various areas within each Region, and comparing them to Toro itself, along with studying the variance in Pokemon and their behavior within each environment.

Alola especially was fascinating, as he found that Pokemon tended to be more docile due to the warmer weather covering a majority of the islands in the region. Pokemon in general seemed to be very well acclimated to Human involvement and coexistence with the island they both called home, and could be seen frequently mingling and relaxing around them. A standout variance here was the behavior and shift of Alolan Raichu, seeming far more aloof and relaxed than it's more common counterpart. Jiro managed to spend a great deal of time with one in particular, who seemed to float along behind him wherever he went whilst staying on Akala Island. Luckily, having one so close made his research far easier, and the Pokemon was a huge help into the common day to day experiences of Pokemon.

His time in Unova was an interesting shift from the Tropical region of Alola. The entire region seemed to be booming with technological bloat, with cities sprawling across the landscape, seperated by well-preserved natural formations and untouched forests. It was here the Jiro studied true Pokemon coexistence with humans, since for most species, contact was truly unavoidable. Birds perched on powerlines and windowsills, some ran alongside bikes and trucks, there were Pokemon helping with large scale excavation and construction projects, and even more helping to babysit and take care of families. Unova was a land where the Pokemon were fully intertwined with their Trainers' lives, and only a handful of species managed to avoid frequent contact. The result was a certain level of desensitization to human contact. Aggressive species were far more brash and forward in their roughhousing, and even those that would be timid in other regions were confident and carefree here. It was an eye opening experience, and not all parts of it were positive, but it was an invaluable learning opportunity all the same. It was also here, in a small cafe focused on their appeal, that Jiro found himself enamored with Slowpoke. It seemed no matter what region he had found them in, their behavior was largely the same, which only served to fascinate the man more the more he studied them.

These six years spent in pursuit of furthering his study towards a PhD in Evolution, Ecology and Behavior. Jiro's grades overall were above average, though there were struggles with some of the more 'mundane' areas of study, and fatigue hit the man hard in his second year, causing a small stutter to his studies from then on that he still has not entirely recovered from.
