Tell us a little about yourself: hiya I'm Freya! I wanted to get into Pixelmon stuff recently again and my friend joined but I was reluctant, admittedly because.. well, I've not watched Pokemon in over a decade and never played any of the games, but I like roleplay, and I like Pokemon still even if I never got the chance to get into it- so I figure, why not learn here and have some fun along the way?

What is roleplaying?
Like acting, you're playing a character and having fun with others who are doing the same. Except the act never ends as long as you're in character.
What is meta-gaming?
Using OOC information to act ICly.
What is power-gaming / god-modding?
Forcing actions (often hostile actions) upon another player, such as ignoring their reactions. It can otherwise be avoiding any damage or repurcussions.
What is retroactive continuity? (retcon):
It simply does not exist anymore, and never has- whatever was retconned.
What is the difference between in-character (IC) and out-of-character (OOC)?
Night and day, IC is your act- OOC is reality, the people behind the characters.

Full name: Andreia MacLellan
Age: 20
Appearance: A woman of narrow and lithe stature, standing at barely over six and a half feet tall. Bearing somewhat sharp facial features and a nose that sits on the larger end, it is accompanied by oaken brown eyes and a dark chocolate hair color, a deeper and richer shade of brown than the eyes. An ambitious and overconfident smirk or fierce anger can be notable expressions of hers. Her hair usually flows in long waves, falling well to the length of her shoulder blades.
Personality: Andreia is a woman of expression. In whatever she does, she can come off as dramatic and theatric. But truly, she simply enjoys expressing herself in whatever it may be. Whether that's distress, anger, joy, or anywhere in between and beyond. This translates not only into her facial expressions but her body language as well, maybe sometimes quite literally jumping for joy. Yet, this translates everywhere in terms of emotion. While she may be fiery or snarky and sarcastic, she isn't one to hold grudges either.. Most of the time. It depends on what got her there, you know?
Biography: Originating from the region of Paldea, Andreia spent most of her days growing up and learning what she could about the world, amongst the rural hills of the land. She's always held a fascination of exploration and finding out more about the world, along with a greater understanding of the hundreds of unique creatures that could potentially surround her daily life. Their habits, personalities, what-have-you. Thus, once she hit the age of twenty and two months, she set out to the region of Toro- a region her grandmother had grown up in before she moved and settled down in Paldea. She always had told many stories of wonder and grandeur, piquing the young Andreia's curiosity.
Flaws: Passionate, and a challenger. She is stubborn, and dislikes backing down or running. She would rather stand and lose than run and win, her pride is a major factor.
Ambitions: She seeks to learn as much as she can about not only the region of Toro and what it has to offer her, but the many creatures and people it inhabits along the way- so one day she can settle with great stories of her own to share to children or grandchildren.
Starter Pokemon: Rolycoly, a Timid baby of massive size (for a baby Rolycoly). The hidden ability chosen is Flash Fire.

You find yourself standing in a bustling town. Suddenly, a small girl runs up to you, her eyes seeming to glisten with fresh tears as her bottom lip quivers. “Please!” She cries out to you, “You must help me! My poor Meowth is stuck in a tree!” She points to a nearby tree as more tears spill out of her eyes and down her cheeks. How does your character respond?
"Well, how'd Meowth get up there?" Andreia wondered aloud as the woman looked at the girl, and then to where she pointed. "Don't worry- we'll get 'em down safe! Promise!" Andreia beamed to the girl with a confident smile as she strode with long steps towards the tree of question.
After arriving in Toro a cheerful woman walks up to you, a clipboard in her hand. “Hello and welcome to Toro! I would like to ask where you came from and why you came, as well as where you plan to go. All for for statistical reasons of course.” she asked with a bright smile as she held a pen to her clipboard. How does your character respond?
"Ohh, of course!" Andreia nodded, all but caught in the glamour and spectacle of her arrival in the city. "Well, it all started when I was a little girl, yes? My grandmother, she used to be here in this region. But.. Well, she'd done what she could! And so she came home, married, and.. Well, let me skip to where I enter the picture. I start growing curious, and my grandmother would tell me /all/ of these stories, about her journey and experiences and I thought- Wow! I want to experience that for myself one day!" Andreia beamed and laughed, barely containing her excitement. "So I did! It took me.. umm.. a lot of years, but.. you know. Anyways, I got journeys to make and experiences to have!" She bounced a little and then rapidly continued off; whether or not the woman got what she needed.
You are walking along the road when your eyes lock onto a trainer's in the distance. At that moment, you both freeze in place. You see a glimmer in the trainer's eyes as he reaches for his Pokeball. "Go, Rattata! Show this chump what we've been training for!" the trainer shouts as he swiftly releases his chosen partner in the vacant space that separates the two of you. How does your character respond?
"Pfah. Alright, let's do this then!" She reveled in the notion of a sudden challenger- and how confident too! Too bad he'd be brutally put in his place in the next few minutes.. At least, Andreia hoped how that would go. Her polycoly isn't quite as bold or brave as the others, and there's a lot of bonding left to go to form a working relationship. In the end.. It is rather likely that Andreia was offered the chance to be humbled- but declined it, sticking her nose up and walking away with a 'hmph' and a burning sensation in her chest of frustration.

I hope this is okay overall! Of course if any changes need be made y'all will let me know but I am very new to all of this and I hope that's alright, I'm more than willing to learn and chill. If not, that's also ok, I respect the decision either way.
