Tell us a little about yourself: Hey! I'm Gavin. I'm an artist, writer, music lover, and a fan of ttrpgs. I love literate detailed roleplay, and the options to do text and in game stuff sounds really exciting. I've already done this once before on a GTAV rp server and had a lot of fun and spent a ton of hours writing there. I'm looking for something more relaxed now as crime on the server has gotten bad.

What is roleplaying? The act of playing the role of another person/character.
What is meta-gaming? Metagaming is roleplaying with information your character could not posses or know of. An example would be going to a location to meet someone without discussing prior or knowing that person would be there.
What is power-gaming / god-modding? Powergaming is roleplaying actions that give unfair advantage in a roleplay environment. It decides the actions for someone else, and also not giving them a chance.
What is retroactive continuity? This would be changing your backstory without having permission to do so. It makes it seem like you don't want to play your own character and their backstory.
What is the difference between in-character (IC) and out-of-character (OOC)? IC means conversation and actions that take place in universe between characters. OOC is conversation and actions outside of the game.
Do you have previous experience playing on a RP server? I do! I played on a GTAV rp server for a while.

Full name: Jesse Wes Vernon
Age: 22
Appearance: Jesse stands tall, around 6'. He stands imposingly, having a large, strong upper body. His waist is dense and his legs seem to be trained as well. He shows signs of exercising constantly, as well as being slightly overfed. His skin is tanned, speckled with freckles and moles. Jesse carries a warm, dimpled smile along with a tooth gap. His skin shows signs of sun damage. The beginnings of reasonable facial hair are forming, but not just there yet. Jesse has long, wavy auburn hair. He's the kind of guy that looks scary from a distance, but sweet up front.
Personality: Jesse exudes warmth. He's bubbly and approachable, kind to strangers and new folks. The struggle lies in being close to him and trying to really pin down what he's all like under that. He's spacey, in his own head a lot. It may seem like he's not paying attention, but that's because he's really thinking. He looks as if he may be dopey, but he's incredibly intuitive and resourceful. His intelligence doesn't lie in booksmarts by any means, but he isn't dumb. Those looking to him in conflict see a much different person. Once you slight him, it takes a lot for him to forgive. He's quick to anger when insulted, and sometimes tends to miscommunicate or not talk about what's bothering him.
Biography: Jesse comes from Phenac City, in Orre. He worked on a farm nearby, tending to the moomoos, torchicks, and a lone rapidash. He learned from youth to survive in a hot, harsh climate. He spent most of his childhood tending to these animals as farm animals, nothing more. He was raised on the farm, and his mother and father did most of the business transporting goods to and from the city. He was in and out of school as a child, so got little socialization and wasn't much aware of Pokémon trainers. Jesse had a few hobbies, cooking, reading, sketching, and making awful contraptions to try and make farm life easier. 9They always failed)Eventually he began to get bored of the farm as he became an adult, bored of traditional parents that wanted to keep him there his whole life. He also began to tire of the lack of companionship. To their slight dismay and honest concern, he headed off into the world with little knowledge of what was to come. Jesse learns of battling, and loves it. He used to read tons of fantasy books as a child, and battling becomes his way of bringing that childhood joy back.
Flaws: Jesse miscommunicates often, unintentionally. He's still getting used to how most people besides his parents tick. Especially when getting to know someone on a deeper level more than just acquaintances, he freezes up and gets nervous. He caan get pretty intense in battle, and even gives out some banter.Jesse has a fast, stubborn mind and will get up to do what he needs to do without thinking first. He can be viewed as occasionally foolish, as he follows his heart before his head. Jesse's anger isn't pleasant to be around.
Ambitions: Jesse cares a lot about his family farm and farms in general. He wants to become a top trainer to help his family, find new companions, show his strength, and to get a bit of a Resume built up for when he goes into a real career. He's looking to become a chef after his stint of battling.

You find yourself standing in a bustling town. Suddenly, a small girl runs up to you, her eyes seeming to glisten with fresh tears as her bottom lip quivers. “Please!” She cries out to you, “You must help me! My poor Meowth is stuck in a tree!” She points to a nearby tree as more tears spill out of her eyes and down her cheeks. How does your character respond?
*Jesse squats down to her height, giving her a kind smile and trying not to seem to big or scary. He puts a hand on her shoulder, and nods to her.* "Lil' miss, I'll do all I can to get 'im down from there. Now try not to get yerself too worked up now, he's a kitty, and kitties do fine in trees. I'll get 'im down now, though."
*Jesse stands, dusting off his trousers and making his way to the tree. He can't find the creature, and calls out to it.* "Hey! You gotta get on down. Yer owner over there is all worked up."
*He sees it duck its head out on a branch next to him, and run down the tree in a sprint to the girl. it clearly wasn't stuck. Jesse sighs, shakes his head and makes his way out.*
You are walking along the road when your eyes lock onto a trainer's in the distance. At that moment, you both freeze in place. You see a glimmer in the trainer's eyes as he reaches for his Pixelball. "Go, Rattata! Show this chump what we've been training for!" the trainer shouts as he swiftly releases his chosen partner in the vacant space that separates the two of you. How does your character respond?
*Jesse raises an eyebrow at the comment, coming from what looked like some overzealous kid. He takes out a hair tie, ties his hair back and pats his back where he wears a sack. It jostles around, as a sleepy looking zangoose hops out.*
"Chump huh? Me and Tang over here don't take lightly to insults of any sort. You could train that rodent all year and Tang'll still be stronger."
*Tang makes his way over to the purple rat, sizing it up before the trainer responds. Seeing it cower slightly, the Zangoose looks back to Jesse. The trainer seems to read the expression on his face, and he nods.*
"Zangoose! Scary face!"
*Tang bares its claws, fangs, and puffs itself up as it looms over rattata. It seems to freak out the rodent significantly, as it scampers back to the trainer.*
"Seems about right. Come try again if you can watch your mouth and have a Raticate to battle me with.
