What is roleplaying? Roleplaying is living an oc. It’s also a fun way to connect! Roleplaying allows you to further understand ocs, and it (might) help with real life. It is fun way to burn time, and it feels nice to live a story. Stories are made by 2 or more people, so it's usually unexpected and fun!
What is meta-gaming? Breaking character in a way. The character makes a decision based on something they couldn’t know. Like as if a naive child would know that someone was kidnapping them.
What is power-gaming / god-modding? Not really enjoying a game. If you’re so focused on becoming the best, you’ll never have fun! The player mainly focuses on catching 'em all and becoming the best battler, etc, and deprives the purpose of the game.
What is retroactive continuity? It’s where lore is modified, therefore not making sense. Let's say a rich family exists and someone claims they are the heir to the fortune, when that has already been determined.
What is the difference between in-character (IC) and out-of-character (OOC)? IC is playing as your OC or character, while OOC is breaking character. You make go OOC to question if things are okay to do or ask for help.
Do you have previous experience playing on a RP server? (This won’t affect your acceptance) No

Full name: Connor Blayne Brooke
Age: 16
Appearance: Tall and skinny, lighter skin tone, bright green eyes and black hair. He has a white streak of hair. He has on a pair of black shoes and a beige button down shirt. He is wearing some brown pants and matching suspenders. He has a few scars on his hands and knees, and he wears some leather fingerless gloves.
Personality: closed off at first, but once you know him, he is actually an amazing friend. Quite insecure about the way he looks and acts. He is smug and sarcastic and has a good (or bad, depending on the way you look at it) joke on hand at all times. He enjoys other people's company, but pushes people away. Extremely irrational at times. Loves his friends to death, but once you lose his trust, it’s hard to earn it back.
Biography: Connor grew up in Unova with his loving mother and father. They lived a happy life, until tragedy struck. Connor was struck with grief for a long time, but managed to get over it. His father, busy with research and grief over his dead mother, sent him away to Toro so he could learn and battle, but things went awry. He got lost, and was wandering the streets for a while before he found where he needed to be. With help from a kind woman who worked at the Pokemon Center, (AKA Nurse Joy) He found his way to the professor's lab. He was extremely grateful, and made his way. The Professor gave him some choices of pokemon, but he was unsure. He decided to use his guitar to help him choose, and he plaid a simple song. Eevee was the only one who seemed interested. He continues his adventure with a guitar on his back and his pokemon at his side.
Flaws: Overly aggressive, easily jealous, and a good liar.
Ambitions: To become famous, not only as a pokemon trainer, but as a musician.

You find yourself standing in a bustling town. Suddenly, a small girl runs up to you, her eyes seeming to glisten with fresh tears as her bottom lip quivers. “Please!” She cries out to you, “You must help me! My poor Meowth is stuck in a tree!” She points to a nearby tree as more tears spill out of her eyes and down her cheeks. How does your character respond?

Connor stares for a moment, unsure of what to do. “Uh, i’m sorry, but I wouldn’t Know how to save your Meowth,” he says, his voice wavering. “I guess a try wouldn't hurt.” He climbs the tree, but fails to save Meowth. He quickly asks for help from a nearby adult. He apologizes to the girl, then leaves.


After arriving in Toro a cheerful woman walks up to you, a clipboard in her hand. “Hello and welcome to Toro! I would like to ask where you came from and why you came, as well as where you plan to go. All for for statistical reasons of course.” she asked with a bright smile as she held a pen to her clipboard. How does your character respond?


You are walking along the road when your eyes lock onto a trainer's in the distance. At that moment, you both freeze in place. You see a glimmer in the trainer's eyes as he reaches for his Pixelball. "Go, Rattata! Show this chump what we've been training for!" the trainer shouts as he swiftly releases his chosen partner in the vacant space that separates the two of you. How does your character respond?

Connor sends out his pokemon quickly. “Go, Eevee!” He battles confidently, knowing Eevee can pull through. He tries his hardest, but goes overboard, and the trainer’s rattata is severely injured. He quickly apologizes and heals the Rattata. He walks away with guilt in his stomach, and with much less potions than before.

Hello, thank you for applying! Your app is very nice, and your character seems very sweet based on what I just read so far ^^ there's a few things I'd like to point out - and have get fixed? Elaborated? before we can accept you though, if that's okay?

Notably a few of your roleplay questions were close, and technically accurate, but I'd also like you to know our definitions of them - just because it's useful! ^^

What is meta-gaming?
Do your best to describe what "meta-gaming" means to you. If you are unsure you can also look at approved applications for examples, just make sure to use your own words and make your own examples.

Meta-gaming is roleplaying with information your character wouldn't have normally. Example: if you just meet a guy who you haven't talked to yet, but he already knows everything about you (profile, whitelist), and uses that information, they would be meta-gaming.

What is power-gaming/godmodding?
Do your best to describe what "power-gaming" means in terms of roleplay in our server! It is also commonly known as 'godmodding' in the RP scene. If you are unsure you can look at approved applications for examples, just make sure to use your own words and make your own examples. We define it mainly as:

Powergaming is not giving others the chance to react, or time to roleplay. It's controlling the other person's characters to decide their reaction. So if your character is in a fight it would be powergaming to say “X punches X in the face and causes them to faint!” since it already decides the fate of the other character without their input. It's simply unfair.

What is retroactive continuity?
Do your best to describe what "retroactive continuity" or "retcon" means to you.

For us, we define it as changing major parts of your backstory after the fact - especially without getting it approved by staff first. We don't expect you to list every single thing in your backstory, and we think it's fine to let it breathe a bit! Notable life-changing or life-defining things should be stated though. Like graduating college, or learning carpentry, or going to jail.

An example of retcon would be:
After we've accepted your character, you then start to say in RP that they're the heir to the Kalosian throne - despite it being nowhere in your story.

So to prevent retcon, please try to list major life beats! If there is something you want to add afterwards, contact a staff member, we're happy to work with you ^^

Easy stuff though! The main thing I'd like you to elaborate on is your character's biography. I like it, it's cute, nothing crazy going on - yeah! We need five sentences though, and more of your character's backstory though. You could elaborate on his schooling, or family life, or how he got his Pokemon - up to you! Something about his actual backstory would be very appreciated though :3

I'd also like to just add that Toro is a separate island away from Unova.

Welcome! Thank you for fixing things! ♥ Your character is a sweetie, and I think he'll fit in well with everyone! I will note that - your character probably is only just now arriving to Toro / or they did that stuff beforehand. Since I play one of the only Pokemon Professors of the regions (there are many ofc, just pokemon starter giving ones), it'd be realllllllly weird if it was established that our characters met and did that. Thank you for understanding.

I will also add to you that our definition of power-gaming is also like: Not giving the other person a chance to react appropriately, such as if you just emoted out: * Mimi's Rapidash kicks you and knocks you out * -- Which would be disrespectful, since it doesn't give you a chance to even attempt to dodge. So just keep that in mind, thank you!

When you get online, you can notify a staff with a starter of your choice, with whatever specifications you could want! Custom Size / Nature / Gender / Non-HA Ability ( if you want one of these, you're best with asking around )
I'll also let you know, since it's easy to miss but! We do level the playing field a little bit and provide Max IVs / near Max IVs for Hidden Powers - though people still need to breed if they want specific stats ( like 0 atk ) and for the rest :3 ! There's a NPC to do that in our Battle Tower!
