The Pokemon Rescue & Rehabilitation Center

Post: # 14229Post Misha »

Currently the Rescue is going through some OOC and IC changes so the current information may no longer be accurate and volunteer / staff positions are closed. If you're interested in working or volunteering feel free to reply still and I'll let you know when it's ready!

The Pokemon Rescue & Rehabilitation Center, originally known as the Pokemon Rescue Center, is a non-profit founded by Lana Norinne that primarily works to rehabilitate injured or trainer-owned Pokemon so they can be returned to the wild. It is a non-profit organization which mostly runs on donations and volunteers. It houses a specialized Pokemon Hospital open to all Pokemon, several large habitats of different environments, and a greenhouse to make sure both the volunteers and the Pokemon eat fresh and healthy food.

We designed our Rescue to have several large habitats rather than individual ones help to emulate the wild. This makes Pokemon feel at home and helps them get used to the environment they’ll be returned to. In addition, it allows for them to have more space, and with Pokemon mixing in the habitats it encourages Pokemon to interact with each other and socialize in a more natural manner.

The hospital on grounds is meant specifically to help treat any injured Pokemon, trainer-owned and wild, and is open to the public to come and go as needed. It has the latest model of healers, and the staff are all highly qualified to work with the Pokemon who might need more.

Despite our best efforts there will be Pokemon that cannot return to the wild. This can be because they’ve been born into a domestic life, born in the shelter, or because they’ve acquired some sort of disability, Either way, these Pokemon would not be able to survive without a caretaker, and we have them up for adoption.

Our rescue has many volunteer positions open for those looking to help Pokemon in need! If you’re not able to volunteer, please consider donating. This extends to items as well, additional potions, antidotes, Pixelballs, or other various items always help!

We hope you enjoy the time you might spend at the shelter, and if you have any problems, questions, or concerns feel free to contact a staff member. We’re always looking for feedback!

Adoption
Certain Pokemon are unable to be released to the wild for various reasons, and so we are willing to offer adoption services for these Pokemon to help find them a loving home! The list of adoptable Pokemon can be found near the front desk [ http://tiny.cc/cprspixelmon ] as well as adoption forms. Keep in mind that taking care of a Pokemon can be hard work and is a serious commitment, and even more depending on the type of Pokemon! Pokemon may take several weeks to months to settle into their new environment, and addition to the money spent on feeding and caring for them, they require lots of attention and love.

Pokemon ID:

In addition to the above the applicant must sign the document. Anyone under the age of 10 must have their guardian’s signature.
Along with this there is a 5kP adoption fee.

[ ICly this will be filled out at the time of the RP, but you can fill this out in advance so we know to get the Pokemon ready/set up a meeting and such! ]
Volunteering
As the PRRC is a non-profit organization, it relies on the help of volunteers to help keep the place running smoothly! There are several volunteer positions as well as occasional one-time volunteer opportunities from time to time. Forms are available at the front desk, speak with Matthew Ward [Misha] to apply or for more information!

Positions with a * mean that they are available for younger individuals who might be interested in helping!

In Shelter
  • Pokemon Caretakers
    • It’s your duty to do routine tasks such as feeding, grooming, and monitoring the Pokemon! In addition you might be called to help with any Pokemon-related issues that might arise, such as if a Pokemon tried to escape.
    Clerical Support
    • Provides support at the front desk, visitor center, or hospital front desk with paperwork, providing guests with information, and answering phone calls.
    Tour Guides
    • You will be asked to lead visitors on scheduled tours around the shelter. You must be able to remember information given, know enough about Pokemon to answer questions, and have good social skills.
    Supervisors
    • You must keep an eye on the various areas and make sure people stay out of trouble, follow the rules, and do what is asked!
    Assistant*
    • Your tasks will be widespread and be for smaller (but still important) tasks. This ranges from cleaning the facilities to assisting any other volunteers with basic services.
Out of Shelter
  • Foster Homes
    • To help prevent running out of space as well, as making sure Pokemon are properly socialized, we’re looking for families and individuals willing to temporarily house certain Pokemon. These Pokemon will be the adoptable Pokemon so there is a chance you will not be able to keep them.

You must fill out a specialized application and undergo a home visit to ensure the Pokemon will be in a safe and friendly environment. In addition, it allows us to know which Pokemon would be best for you to foster. You will be provided a few of the adoptable Pokemon and be allowed to help with adoption! The Pokemon given are NOT to keep unless if you properly fill out an adoption form / speak with a proper staff member.
    Outreach Assistant*
    • Your duty is to help by promoting the Pokemon Rescue & Rehabilitation Center. You can do this by bringing adoptable Pokemon to various locations on scheduled days, putting up posters, or out any other way to promote the shelter that you might think of.
