La Toro Mafia

A lot of copies of this book have been located all over Toro. You most likely stumbled upon it in shacks, holes and/or libraries.

As you open the book, the following page catches your interest.

You start reading the second page.

On the back of the book you find a Mafia seal of approval with a signature from Don Robin Icardi, also some vague handwriting that seems to say; 'Find the Moving Mountain.'

Austin is strolling down the street - on his way to Jays Diner, his favorite place to eat when he notices a book, worn and tattered but made relevantly new, he can tell by the paper. He flips it over in his hands before heading to the diner for further probing. And upon reading he starts to grow fond of the ideals put forth in front of him. It brings somewhat of a nostalgia over him from his days in a sort of gang he was from, the sense of brotherhood, the feeling of not having to watch your back - to never have to travel alone. He speaks aloud in a mumbled tone about the 'moving mountain', and he already decided that he would find it, and he would join them. After all he'd met Cedge and Robin and they seemed nice enough people, but as he was reading he felt a weight grow heavy on the front of his shirt, so heavy he almost fell. He looked down at his badge and knew he'd have to make a choice.

Doug searches through the shelves of the Aurelia library, the omnipresent cigarette at his mouth slowly yellowing the paper with its' smoke. He searches for something light to flip through in an effort to stave off boredom, perhaps a fantasy novel of some kind to occupy his time while waiting for Vincent LeGrand to come back with that job he was promised.

The young chain-smoker eventually gives up, sighing in disbelief at the total lack of fictive literature. As he turns to walk out, he notices one of the mafia's books on the ground. Moving to pick it up, he decides to flip through it to see if it would be of any interest. The first thing he notices is the signature, and as he goes back to read the rest of the text he wonders if this is the same Robin he spoke with about doing some odd jobs shortly after arriving in Toro.

He thinks to himself as he reads. "Standing proudly in a mansion, moving mountain... That place outside Ferrite?" He takes the book with him, walking out of the library to his waiting Dragonite.

As he flies to Ferrite, Doug wonders to himself how he'll be able to come out on top in such a hierarchical environment. Patience, perhaps, may be the necessary virtue.

Carter, upon returning from a small trip he took to Sinnoh, would wonder the streets of Cobalt in attempt to see what's new. Out of the corner of his eye, he spots a tattered, small book. Out of curiosity, he picks it up and starts reading, immediately intrigued.

Carter would close and pocket the book, the promise of a new family and a better life being almost too good to be true. Carter wonders, unable to even remember the last time he had a family, about where this 'Moving Mountain' is. Nevertheless, he needed to find it, to join 'La Toro Mafia', for a better future for him.

Willow, on his way towards Carmine, happens to detour through the woods by Ferrite and sees a book laying outside the manor he passes daily. The book, as it is a book, intrigues Willow and he picks it up. After reading the short passages left within the book, he examines the ratty exterior and frowns. He isn't happy with the care that has been taken of this book and he pockets it, secretly preparing to print off more just like it.

Zane, while just wandering about, decided to swing by the library. He was searching the shelves when he caught sight of this strange book. Being the ever whimsical individual he was, he read it without a moment's hesitation. Enticed by the words that dwelled within the pages of that book, he decided to seek out this 'moving mountain'. Then it hit him. "Where have I heard that before...." He scratched his chin and then had a stroke of genius as he dashed out the door, dropping the book on his way out.
