Toro's Media Empire!

Post: # 14903Post Rosy »

It's too easy to try and take an existing property and change it to Pokemon for Toro, but! That's not as immersive or world-building as making our own! Lets share the different properties like TV-shows, book series, and stuff like that so we can fill our world up with familiar series for our characters!
Image
I'll start:
Munchlax Snax! wrote:This live action TV show is aimed towards kids, hosted by Miss Pots and her team of Pokemon! There is Mr. Lax, the Munchlax, who is her partner! There is also Sweetie the Bounsweet who helps in the gardens, and a fun array of other Pokemon from fire types to help cooking - ice types, Alolan Ratatas! Fun stuff.
The team go around in typical kids show education fashion, each episode centered around a simple dish they explore. They go through simple history, production, a section where kids share their favorite meals - stuff like that. At the end they even cook it themselves! Mr. Lax is the comedic goof, always eating stuff, it's a popular show.
Smeargle Art Corner wrote:It's just a typical arts and crafts, short episode'd show featuring the bubbly Kalosian French artist, Mitsy, and her Smeargle Leonardo!
The Unown Chronicles wrote:This young-adult, long lasting fantasy-adventure-mystery series has way too many books and way too many authors contributing different side stories, or just building upon the world. Though set in somewhat outdated modern times, the rotating cast of characters find themselves in different locations each book ranging from fantasy lands, to the past. The general premise of the books are that Unown has the power to bend reality when brought together to spell a work. There are plenty of board games, short series, and movies adapting the books. One of the main props is the character's dictionary/thesaurus.
Some IN-CHARACTER Publications:
- Heath Fleur & Veloren Corbet have released and co-released books about different flower meanings, along with some Grass-Pokemon books, such as basic needs - and what colorations of petals can mean! There are often sappy dedications to eachother, the Toro Region, and a little prince named Elliot. With thanks to Vincent & Mimi LeGrand.

Mr. Moon, also known as Davis Moon, is a famous musician! After moving from Unova to Toro at 18, he released a large number of various records and albums through his life that became well known because of his lovely voice. He's most well known for upbeat or sappy romance music, and has also done a few covers of songs by other famous artists. A notable single was a single by the name of 'Riptide' he performed with two other famous people- Hanako (also known as Amy-Lynn Penn) and the famous surfer Corey Maverick. He is now retired and living a seemingly peaceful life with his husband, Markus Moon.

Bladed Heart

This action cartoon was an instant classic when it first unveiled. With a rather simple premise, it used popular Pokemon and high drama fights to keep its audiences engaged.

The basic premise is a pair of students raised by an elderly Aegislash. Trained in sword arts, they accidentally release a Spiritomb, freeing its component spirits. They must wander across the land, seeking the spirits out, while avoiding being caught in traps and plots conjured by the spirits.

Notable Characters:

Dart: The Bisharp - Stereotypical edgy protag
Glaive: The Gallade - stereotypical "Friendship wins!" protag
Kite: The Aegislash
Sash: An enemy Frosslass.
Locke: A klefki that has a taste for more than keys. Steals everything.
